How to calculate income tax based on new tax slab 2014-15

New finance budget for FY 2014-15 presented by our finance minister Mr. Arun Jaitley has brought good news for taxpayers with the raised tax exemption limit. Individual tax exemption is raised by Rs. 50,000 that is now the individuals below 60 years of age with salary not more than 2,50,000 will be tax free. In case of senior citizens exemption limit is raised to Rs. 3,00,000 which was 2,50,000 in the previous financial year. Limit for investment under 80C act is also raised to Rs. 1,50,000 which was 1 Lakh previously.

Tax Slab information for FY 2014-15


Here is the detailed income-tax slab for FY 2014-15-

1. For individuals below 60 years:

How to activate State Bank of India Mobile Banking on your phone

In the field of banking, The next big thing after online banking is mobile banking but many people are not using it because either they don't know about it or they are just too afraid to use it. But believe me, it is a hassle free service provided by almost all the banks in India. We can use mobile banking for transferring money, to do online re-charge or many other things which requires going to manual going to banks.

Today we will see how to activate the mobile banking for the biggest bank in India that is State Bank of India (SBI). Activating SBI mobile banking involves two phases-

1. First step involves smartphone activation.
2. Second step involves activation using ATM.

Phase 1.

1. Send a SMS <MBSREG> to 9223440000 or 567676 using your mobile phone. You will receive a SMS containing your User-id and a MPIN.

2. If you are using a JAVA phone then you will receive an another SMS containing the link for downloading the application. And if you are using any Android phone or I-phone then you can download the Statebank Freedom application from the respective stores.

3. After installing the application into your phone, change the default MPIN to some safe password and remember it.

Phase 2.

Now second phase involves going to the nearest SBI ATM and don't forget to take your ATM card with you.

1. Swipe your ATM card into machine and choose Mobile registration.
2. Now choose Mobile banking and select the option Registration.
3. Now enter your 10-digit mobile number and choose confirm. You will soon receive a SMS showing the status about the activation of your mobile banking.

NOTE: Use the mobile number registered with the bank.

If you are already a SBI online banking user, then the second phase becomes very easy for you. Just log-in into your online banking. Select e-Services and then State Bank Freedom from left hand side menu-bar. Now select your account number and click submit.

In the next step enter your mobile number and the user-Id you received through SMS and click Continue. You will soon receive a confirmation message about the activation of your mobile banking.


Important instructions for updating your PAN card information | Request a new PAN card

To change your information on PAN card you will need to apply for a new PAN card with updated information. For that you have to fill an online form, pay the charges and then have to send the acknowledgement with proper documents to the NSDL office.

1. First go to this link - Request for New PAN Card Or/ And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data.

Read the instructions given their carefully. Then select the type of your PAN card that is Individual/firm etc.

2. After that you will be taken to the page where you will need to enter the details like name, address and general stuff.

While filling the form don't forget to click 'Tick' on checkboxes given on the left hand side of the columns in which you want to make change.

For example if you want to change your name click 'Tick' on checkbox given on the left side of field name.

And if you want to change your address then click on the checkbox given at the left side of column no. 7 - Address for Communication.


You will also need to make a payment of Rs. 96 for this process. Options for making payment are demand draft, Net-banking, credit-debit cards or cheque.

After submitting the form you will get a 15-digit acknowledgement number.

Now follow the steps given below-

Duly sign the acknowledgement
Affixed  photograph alongwith demand draft/cheque, if any, proof of existing PAN, proof of identity & address as specified in the application along with any other relevant proof as specified (in Item No.IV - Documents to be submitted along with the application )

And post it at the following address-

NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited, 5th floor, Mantri Sterling, Plot No. 341, Survey No. 997/8, Model Colony, Near Deep Bungalow Chowk, Pune รข€“ 411016'.

Don't forget to write 'APPLICATION FOR PAN CHANGE REQUEST-Acknowledgment Number' on the envelope. 

How to correct wrong name or address in Aadhaar Card | Update your Aadhaar Card data

Aadhar card is a 12-digit number which is issued by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) and which verifies your identity as an Indian resident and your address. After verification process of your documents you will get a 12-digit unique number which will remain valid for life.

You will be charged 4.95% when you top-up your VCC using your personal credit/debit card. Funds will be deposited immediately to your EntroPay card.

You will be charged 3.95% when you top-up your VCC by bank transfer or bank wire. Funds will be deposited within 2-5 business days.

Minimum funds you can add is $5 and maximum is $400. Just top-up your card and you will get a easy to use Virtual Credit Card. Also this is not a one-time card, you can use it as long as you have funds in it.

How to add/manage beneficiary in State Bank of India (SBI) using netbanking

SBI's online netbanking service provides facility to transfer funds instantly to any other SBI bank account using add beneficiary option. To use this service you will need to add the account of the person as your beneficiary whom you want to transfer money. Adding beneficiary option follows two steps- first one is to add the account details of the beneficiary that is name to which account is registered and bank account number. Second step includes approving the beneficiary by OTP (One Time Password) that you will receive on your mobile phone number registered with your account.

To add beneficiary first login to your SBI netbanking using your username and password. then click on Payments/Transfers Tab on the upper left side.



If you are transferring money to a account in SBI then click on Within SBI > Accounts of Others tab.

Now it will display list of beneficiaries already added with a link to add a new beneficiary as well. Ofcourse you will now find any beneficiaries if you are using this service first time. Now Click on the link Click here to add a new Intra-Bank Beneficiary on the right side.


Next step will need your profile password. Remember that this password is going to be different set by you after your logged in first time to your netbanking. Enter the profile password and this will take you to the page where you have to enter the name to which account is registered, account number and transfer limit.


Enter the details and click Submit.

After that you will receive OTP on your mobile phone. Click on the Approve tab, select the account details you just entered and enter the high security password received and enter the high security password. Beneficiary will be activated within 6-7 hours. You will receive a confirmation message on your phone. Now you can transfer money less than the transfer limit set by you.



You can modify and delete the beneficiary by clicking on the Modify and Delete tab.
